Jeff Curtis has been awarded the Washington Missourians Distinguished Service Award.

Jeff began his career as a part time EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) in June 1993 and quickly became a full time employee in November of 1993. He continued his studies and became a Missouri State Licensed Paramedic in May of 1996. Jeff has served at Meramec Ambulance District for 16 years. His passion for EMS and patients is evident on every call.

In the early 90’s, Jeff was instrumental in planning and implementing our map system and the Emergency Numbering System (ENS) for our district. He and others spent numerous hours driving the district roads, collecting data, locations and drawing maps, while educating the public on the importance of the ENS.  ENS is still being used today.

While our mapping program has advanced to an electronic Global Positioning System (GPS) this too requires constant monitoring and updates for accuracy.

Jeff has also held many other positions within the district as:

*Public Relations Coordinator

*CPR Instructor

*Student Preceptor

And, he also assists with our internal data and Information Systems.

Jeff is a person with a great sense of humor, and is very well liked by his co-workers. He is always willing to accept a challenge and continuously looks for opportunities to learn, teach and help others.

Jeff is both resourceful and knowledgeable in many areas, and is an asset to the district. He is friendly, warm, sincere and genuine.

Congratulations Jeff Curtis from your Friends and Colleagues, and thank you for all your dedicated service throughout the years. The residents of the area are very lucky to have you on staff at Meramec Ambulance District.
